Autumn is the season of falling leaves, hibernating animals, the first colds, and the start of school.

1. A water conduit

Can you, together with your little boy or girl, build a conduit to get the water as far as possible without letting a drop fall?

Here’s what you need:

• Plastic bottles
• Empty plastic containers
• Funnels
• Pipes
• Tin cans

After finding all the material, you have to go in search of the puddle and Y-shaped sticks to use as a support.
Cut the bottles in half and join the various parts by putting them in the tin boxes.
Build together with your little boy or girl led to different heights thus creating beautiful waterfalls.
Organize a competition for your children: each team puts a basin at the bottom of the pipe, whoever collects the most water wins!

2. Does it float or sink?

When the rain stops, take your children to explore nature. Collect branches, bark, snail shells, feathers, seeds and nuts together with them.
Have the little ones guess which ones float and which ones sink.

3. Mud castles

There are not only sand castles: have you ever tried to make one with mud?
Help your little ones build imaginary fortresses and palaces inhabited by princesses, wizards and fantastic creatures. You can reinforce the structure using stones and sticks.
Add tunnels, secret passages, ditches and prisons and let your children’s imagination run wild!

4. Color the stones with colored chalks

It’s super fun to paint with chalks after it rains because the color is smoother and spreads out better.

5. Barefoot in the mud

Take your little boy or girl to explore the meadows without shoes!

• Mud footprints

Entertain your children by leaving hand and footprints on kitchen paper rolls or on the sidewalk… or even on their brothers or sisters!

• Casts of the hand or foot

Make your children leave a footprint in the mud, surround it with cardboard forming a circle. Prepare some liquid plaster and pour it into the circle, completely covering the impression. Let the plaster harden for about 20 minutes, remove the cast and scrape off the mud… and here is a beautiful memory!

• Blind path

Outdoors, prepare a path for your children to follow barefoot and blindfolded, with only the help of a rope.
Make sure the ground is safe and free of sharp objects.
