The Wayward Realms, open-world RPG by Elder Scrolls veterans, reappears with trailer and details

It promises an open world on a scale never seen before, with great freedom and a history reactive to our actions.

Do you remember The Wayward Realms ? Already in February 2020 we told you about this new open world RPG developed by veterans of The Elder Scrolls saga , which is sold as a spiritual successor to Daggerfall and will offer a world on a massive and realistic scale . Well, the OnceLostGames project has reappeared this week with a new trailer as a teaser, in addition to launching its official Steam page , full of images and details .

The Wayward Realms is an adventure set in an archipelago made up of more than 100 islands with a realistic scale. So realistic, that its creators refer to the game as if it were a completely new genre: the “Grand RPG” . And it is that this Archipelago -as they call it- is a world of massive dimensions, which contains dozens of factions competing for power, entire kingdoms that fight to dominate their rivals, heroes in search of glory and dynasties with hidden plans in action. A world where the player can rise to the top and change the course of history.

No two players will have the same experienceOnceLostGamesThus, its creators speak of offering a real RPG experience and with great freedom , in the purest style of The Elder Scrolls. “You will not play as a predefined warrior or wizard, but rather as a character designed by yourself, with custom abilities and traits to create your own spells, potions and enchantments.” All this supported by a world in constant evolution , with “a virtual Game Master that will keep things interesting.” In fact, the study guarantees that “no two players will have the same experience” , since each action of the player influences the world, the story and how the factions act.

All this, we repeat, supported by a massive world . “Seriously! Much bigger than most games you can think of,” says his study, who speak of ” big cities with thousands of NPCs, dangerous and dark forests, gigantic mountain ranges , swamps and immense, vast wetlands oceans and more, brought to life by dynamic procedural generation . “

As we mentioned before, The Wayward Realms does not have a release date yet . And it may sound too good to be true, but as we hope to get to know it better – and see if it lives up to its promise – you can now add it to your wish list on Steam. Another RPG that will also be waiting for its own is The Elder Scrolls 6 , Bethesda’s new adventure that is just in the design phase , while his company works on Starfield.
