Mortal Shell: The Virtuous Cycle dates its release, in time for the RPG to premiere on Steam
The video game ends its temporary exclusive with the Epic Games Store and presents a new dungeon mode.
Cold Symmetry and Playstack already have a date for the launch of Mortal Shell: The Virtuous Cycle , the first major content expansion of their action RPG released just a year ago for PC, PlayStation and Xbox. It will be available for purchase on August 18 , the day on which both the DLC and the base video game will also be released on Steam, ending its exclusive on the Epic Games Store .
The Virtuous Cycle seeks to give users new incentives to stay in this ruthless world full of adversaries to defeat. Among the highlights is a new dungeon (or roguelike) mode that is guaranteed to lead the player to battle in a changing world where each match is unique. “Develop your own fighting style thanks to the pillars of improvement that you will find scattered throughout Fallgrim and beyond. There are more than 100 improvements waiting for you, from exotic accessories for weapons to totally new movements,” they describe.
Additionally, players can now control their once elusive master, Hadern , as the fifth poseable Mortal Shell canister available in both The Virtuous Cycle and the game’s main campaign. Finally, the DLC adds a new weapon to the action RPG: the Axatana , which allows its owners to convert it into an extremely heavy ax or a light double katana.
If you want to know more about this video game, do not hesitate to consult the analysis of Mortal Shell by Alejandro Pascual that said: “lights and shadows in the title of Cold Symmetry that, although it presents a good challenge, is weighed down by some decisions that slow down the game and some inaccuracies in its mechanics. An enjoyable soulslike, however, although shorter than the average, which serves as a good aperitif “.
