Without a doubt, the Huawei Mate 30 series has excelled in its presentation, providing a design that plays with geometry and minimalism to result in one of the most visually attractive terminals of the decade. It uses a combination of aluminum and reinforced glass for its construction , also having a matte or glossy finish depending on the color variant.
On the back you can see the photographic set with Leica cameras encapsulated in a circumference, which protrudes slightly from the cover. To the left of this is the respective Flash LED.
Moving to the front we find a 6.62-inch AMOLED screen with Full HD + resolution (2340 x 1080 pixels), which houses a notch for the front sensors. It stands out for its minimalist bezels and provides an immersive experience.
However, it should be added that the standard version omits the waterfall design seen in the Mate 30 Pro, that is, there is no 88-degree curvature on its sides. On the other hand, the fingerprint sensor is present in both terminals.
Kirin 990 on board
One of the greatest assets of the Huawei Mate 30 series is the presence of the new 7-nanometer Kirin 990 platform , which uses 8 ARM Cortex cores working at different frequencies. It has a powerful 16-core GPU and a neural processing unit based on the DaVinci architecture , whose purpose is to accelerate processes that involve artificial intelligence. Also, the chip is backed with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage .
The Mate 30 does not include the required modem to support the 5G network, only the Mate 30 Pro 5G offers this exclusive feature.
The terminal is powered by a generous 4,200mAh battery , which, despite having less capacity than the Pro version, has the same 45W fast charging, 27W wireless charging and TÜV Rheinland certified reverse wireless charging technologies .
Android 10 and EMUI 10, but without Google services
At this point we have all heard the news, the Mate 30 series will have Android 10 together with the renewed EMUI 10 interface, but it will not come with Google services or applications pre-installed, which means that, if we want to use apps as essential as Google Maps and YouTube, we will have to get hold of them on our own. To cushion the impact a bit, Huawei includes its own App Gallery, from which we can download some popular apps.
Changing the subject a bit, the interface supports gesture control and artificial intelligence for non-contact interaction with the screen.
