Bethesda’s Indiana Jones wasn’t a two-day affair – it was first proposed to George Lucas in 2009

Bethesda surprised everyone earlier this year with the announcement of a new Indiana Jones game. A large-scale project headed by MachineGames , responsible for the last Wolfenstein, who like the most famous archaeologist in Hollywood, are no strangers to ending the Nazis. In an interview with The Telegraph, Bethesda’s creative director acknowledges that the company already proposed an Indiana Jones game to George Lucas in 2009 . Speaking about the future of the company and its upcoming games, Howard claims to be very excited for the opportunity to work with one of the most iconic characters in adventure movies. “I think I proposed the game to Lucas in 2009, and have been looking for a way to do it ever since .”

“And the work they’ve done at MachineGames, they’re just exceptional developers and storytellers ,” says Howard. “When I started talking to them about the game, you could see they fit together. And then we had the opportunity to talk to Lucas and Disney about it and they were very excited .” In this, the director of the next Starfield explains, as you might imagine, that “I really adore Indiana Jones, but I never thought that I would have the opportunity to create a game” of the saga.
“You will hear more about it in the future. But the MachineGames team are the best team in the world to create this game, and they are doing a phenomenal job .” Announced only in January 2021, the new Indiana Jones game is still in a very early stage of its development , so it will take a while for Indy to take his whip out for a walk. The one that will not wait so long is Starfield, which already has a release date .
