Better value for money on RTX 30 or RX 6000? We crawl the market and choose
Even with a premium, we believe that we can find the graphics card with the best value for money of 2021 , a year that will want to be forgotten by many. We searched the GPU market for which AMD RX 6000 and NVIDIA RTX 3000 offers a certain value for money.
The idea of this article is to find the GPU with the best possible price, given the circumstances we have in the market. They all have a premium, we know, but we can find custom graphics cards cheaper than others. We know the performance that all of them give, but we also show you the most interesting comparisons.

Performance questions? Know our comparisons
We want you to draw your own conclusions to know which graphics card is most recommended for your use. We have analyzed dozens of graphics cards in 2021, and we have provided you with a series of comparisons that we believe can help you choose.
In most of us we have taken into account the Ray Tracing , as the scenario without RT, always with ULTRA quality to know the maximum performance of the GPU. We leave you our comparisons:

What graphics card to buy in 2021?
It’s the million dollar question, right? Well, for color tastes and options for needs, but the graphics card to buy in 2021 would be the RTX 3080 due to its great versatility and the little improvement in the RTX 3080 Ti and RTX 3090 / RX 6900 XT.
If your budget, or your needs, are much smaller, my choice would be the RTX 3060 Ti , a great GPU. Now you will say, why do you choose those? For the following reasons:
- Price-quality ratio .
- Availability . The RX 6000 are practically non-existent, except for the RX 6600 XT. The other models suffer a brutal price premium.
- Ray Tracing performance . AMD has a lot to improve and this scenario is going to be the future, so we are aiming for it.
- NVIDIA DLSS . It works much better than AMD FSR, although it is logical because it takes years of development behind it.
- Variety of custom models . Although MSI, GIGABYTE and ASUS manufacture for the 2 brands, we see certain brands like KFA2 (NVIDIA) or XFX (AMD) that are super interesting. However, it seems that they are still betting more on NVIDIA.
Low-end: ASUS TUF Gaming GTX 1650 with 4GB GDDR6
We started the search for the graphics with the best quality price of 2021 for the low range , and the brutal surcharge makes us look for the best possible option: ASUS TUF Gaming GTX 1650 with 4 GB GDDR6 . It is a small graphics card with 2 fans, but with the reliability of TUF behind it.
We have opted for it for its frequencies (1590 MHz in boost clock), for its overclocking capabilities (more than 1600 MHz ), for its available ports and for the use of GDDR6 as memory. This GPU can be used to play at 1080p and 60 FPS in many video games (high-medium quality), although it is clear that 4 GB is little today.
In this case, the most interesting model we have seen is purchased at Wipoid, and is on sale for € 224.90 .
Mid-range: MSI RX 6600 XT Gaming X 8 GB GDDR6
AMD is going to make NVIDIA suffer with its RX 6600 XT , something it achieved with the RX 5600 XT vs RTX 2060, whose price dropped below € 300. It seems to us a great product from AMD because its performance is on par with the RTX 3060 Ti, a GPU with an unfeasible price.
We opted for the MSI model , everyone knows the GAMING X range and it helps to know that it comes with a TWIN FROZR 8 design and TORX Fan 4.0 fans. Offering up to 2607 MHz frequency, it comes with 3 DisplayPort 1.4 ports, as well as customizable RGB lighting.
The assets of this GPU are RDNA 2 and FidelityFX Super Resolution to be able to surpass the RTX 3000. On this occasion, PcComponentes is listed for € 519.90 , a price higher than the official price, but which is not a «crazy», seeing the rest of Models.
Within the illogical price, it must be said that it is a graphics card with the best quality-price of 2021 in this range.
Upper-mid-range: ASUS Dual RTX 3070 OC Edition V2 8G GDDR6
For many it will be high-end directly, but we believe that AMD and NVIDIA have worked their GPUs so much that there should be a different range for the RTX 3070/3070 Ti and the RX 6700 / RX 6700 XT. Wipoid places an RTX 3070 with 2 ASUS fans that has a questionable price, but if we go to similar models they are placed at € 900-1000.
It has an RGB touch on the back and is a budget ( DUAL) model from ASUS, whose maximum frequency goes to 1800 MHz. If I had to define it, I would say that it is “small, but bully” because its goal is gaming at 1440p , with or without Ray Tracing.
It does not reach € 800 and it could be what you are looking for, applying for a graphics card with a better quality price of 2021.
High-end: GIGABYTE RTX 3080 Gaming OC V2 LHR 10 GB GDDR6X
We end up in the high-end of our life with the RTX 3080 as our choice because PcComponentes gives us the GIGABYTE Gaming model with a “more interesting” price than others of the RTX 3080. We are before the graphics card model with the best quality-price from 2021 , at its official price and under premium conditions.
We will enjoy WINDFORCE 3X cooling , GIGABYTE’s standalone alternate twist, an RGB touch on the back, and a maximum frequency of 1800MHZ . To say that this GIGABYTE range is famous for offering TOP cooling in the last generations. Not to mention GDDR6X memory , which we only find in the more powerful RTX 3000 models.
Its recommended retail price did not exceed € 750, which seemed like a real bargain. This model does not double the price, but it has a notable price mark.
When will graphics cards drop in price in 2021?
It’s another one of the million questions, and it’s something we’ve been covering since 2020. We covered this topic in our post about the graphics card shortage slightly, but we’ll expand on more now.
- ASRock expected a price drop in graphics cards in June , and this was the case from June to August (it was coming from a markup that was double the official price).
- 3DCenter has been the portal that has most monitored the prices of graphics cards in German and Austrian stores. At first, the most overpriced GPUs were NVIDIAs, but with all the models released, AMD outperformed it.
- Why do they keep going up? The raw materials and logistics strangling and manufacturers throughout the supply chain. It not only affects GPUs, but other consumer products.
- Despite the drop in the price premium in May, the latest information points to a ” rebound ” in September or late August.
What do Lisa Su or Jensen Huang say? The CEOs of AMD and NVIDIA do not give an exact forecast , but especially Jensen Huang (CEO of NVIDIA) gave a pessimistic view on the prices and stock of NVIDIA in 2021:
I expect we will see a contained supply environment for the vast majority of 2022
Not only does it assure that the supply will not be good in 2021 , but that in 2022 it does not look to improve significantly either. Therefore, it seems that we are at a crossroads in the sector. I regret to inform you that the price of graphics cards will not drop in 2021 , at least significantly.
