WITH RUBBER BOOTS… A WALK AMONG COLORS!

From an early age, children are naturally sensitive to colors, they are attracted to it and with curiosity they slowly learn to observe color variations and to express their preferences. Color therefore as an expression, but also as a representation of emotions, as an interpretation of reality, of fantasy, as a mirror of our feelings. WITH RUBBER BOOTS… A WALK AMONG COLORS!

So let’s take advantage of a walk in a city park or in a wood outside the city to stimulate their joyful expressiveness through the use of colors that naturally surround us, easy to find and use and which vary according to the cycle of the seasons.

Even now that the temperature is gradually colder, let’s put on a pair of rubber boots, equip ourselves with a bag to store the collected items, a few sheets of paper and simply, thanks to the innate curiosity of the little ones, we observe what surrounds us. immersing ourselves in an engaging sensory experience.

We hear the crackling under our shoes of pebbles, dry leaves, slippery ground, we smell the humid air and touch the natural elements observing that each of them leaves a trace, releases a color.

This season our sheet gets wet, wrinkles, changes consistency, changes; even the not quite clear water of the puddles in which we can dip a sprig to use as a brush, can be useful on our palette.

The earth simply rubbed on our sheet creates an infinity of shades from ocher, to red, to intense brown, and so also the still green grass, the wet leaves, the last flowers of the season, the berries, the first mosses, everything can be used for coloring, to express creativity and emotions.

The speed, the direction, the force used to trace the natural colors with the fingers will create various and interesting chromatic effects.

A muddy leaf will become a mold to be imprinted on our sheet. A slightly damp piece of wood can be useful for tracing the outlines.

We collect in the bag that we brought with us every element that intrigues us, different in color, shape, texture, smell, size, to be reused perhaps on a rainy afternoon to create creations, decorations or real games.

And then here are the wide barks, dry leaves so different and jagged, twigs, wild chestnuts and their curls, pungent pine needles, soft mosses, dry ears, rolled branches…. and have a nice walk.
