Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar is a former cricketer and captain of the Indian team. The world famous cricketer had set many records in his career and is considered one of the greatest batsmen of all times. Sachin was born on 24th April 1973 to a Marathi novelist, Mr. Ramesh Tendulkar, and an insurance professional Mrs. Rajni Tendulkar; he was nicknamed as Tenley and Little Master. He did his schooling from the Sharad ashram Vidyamandir High School. While in school, Sachin attended the M.R.F. Pace Foundation so as to train himself to be a fast bowler. However, as per the suggestion of Dennis Lillie, the fast bowler from Australia, he concentrated on batting. As a child, he used to practice for a long stretch of time. At the age of 14 years, he served in the Cricket World Cup of 1987 as a ball boy in the Wankhede Stadium.

Tendulkar is married to Anjali Mehta, who is a pediatrician by profession and is the daughter of Mr. Anand Mehta, an industrialist from the state of Gujarat. O. of Mumbai called Anamaya that is associated with Mrs. Annabel Mehta, his mother-in-law, who is also a social worker. The cricket career of Tendulkar began during his school days under the coaching and guidance of his mentor Mr. Ramadan Achrekar. However, the career of the world famous cricketer began at the age of 13 years, when he made cricket debut in the Cricket Club of India. The date of 11th December 1988 is marked as the date when 100 not out was scored by him in a first-class cricket match between Mumbai and Gujarat. Starting from there, Sachin played innumerable cricket matches at national as well as international level.

On 5th December 2012, Tendulkar became the first batsman in history to cross the 34,000 run aggregate in all formats of Cricket. He had played a total of 657 matches in international cricket. Tendulkar sponsors 200 underprivileged children every year through Anamaya, a Mumbai-based NGO associated with his mother-in-law, Annabel Methane request by him on Twitter raised crore (US$140,000) through Sachi’s crusade against cancer for the Crusade against Cancer foundation. Sachin Tendulkar spent nine hours on the 12-hour Coca-Cola-NDTV Support My School telethon on 18 September 2011 that helped raise crore more than the target – for the creation of basic facilities, particularly toilets for girl students, in 140 government schools across the country.

Autobiography

Sachin Tendulkar’s autobiography, Playing It My Way, was released on 6 November 2014. It was listed in the 2016 Lima Book of Records for breaking the record for adult hardback pre-publication orders, with 1, 50,289 copies confirmed.
