How can you work in Spain if you are a foreigner?

I am a citizen of the European Economic Area (EEA)
The citizens belonging to the EEA (28 members of the European Union, Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein) can work freely in Spain provided they have a passport or a valid identity because they have the same rights as Spanish citizens .
Outside the EEA, the process is more complex. It will be necessary to obtain a work permit from the Spanish authorities (residence permit).

Also, you may want to study in Spain and work in order to pay for your stay and classes. In that case, it will be enough to have a valid residence card and be registered in an official educational center .
Citizens from the EEA have certain privileges, as they will not have to apply for a temporary work permit, while those from third countries do.
Of course, if you work in Spain, you can study the language at the same time. Coming to Spain without learning the language will not allow you to easily access a job.

Create your own business in Spain when you are a foreigner

If you want to join a company in Spain or become a partner of a company, you will have no problem because there are no limits. Of course, EU citizens have more privileges, as long as the country acceded before May 2004 or belongs to the EEA (Iceland, Norway, Liechtenstein or Switzerland).
If you are not a citizen of the EU or EEA, the process can get a bit more complicated. You will need to obtain a long-stay visa and apply for a special qualification to become a “business executive.”
