A few days ago Konami’s plans were officially announced with numerous changes in its football saga, which we have to get used to calling eFootball instead of PES. The presentation of the game raised some doubts among the community about the development of the game, which will now be free-to-play . But, little by little, we are learning new details that clarify everything about the simulator of the beautiful game.
eFootball will be a free to play game on all platformsIn fact, one of the key aspects for fans and to compensate for the absence of licenses for some clubs and competitions is the use of “Option Files “ , files that are uploaded from the community so that users can download them for free, making in this way that we can see the real clubs, names or kits, contrary to how they come by default. Konami has confirmed that they will continue to be compatible with eFootball, as echoed by PESUniverse, after translating the publications of the Japanese publisher itself.
In one of the answers to that FAQ, Konami confirms that they have plans to add, load or edit Option Files, although, yes, it will not be an available possibility from launch. They specify that it will come later through a free update for PS4, PS5 and PC , and that they will give more details soon.
Option Files are widely used in the PES community, since they allow, in a simple way, to make use of “mods” or user creations, not only to bring more realism to the game with real kits or shields , but also because of the possibility to play with historical teams from several decades ago, also reflecting the clothes of yesteryear.
