Elephone is another of those Chinese manufacturers that tries to emulate Xiaomi’s philosophy in terms of price-quality ratio, and so far it has made very interesting proposals without leaving the field of affordability. A good example of the aforementioned is the ELEPHONE U2 with its pop-up camera, but more recently we can look at the Elephone U5 , a mobile that is comfortably positioned between the low and mid-range, reaching a commendable balance of specifications for the market to which it belongs.
This budget mobile has a 6.4-inch Full HD screen , in addition, it is powered by a competent Helio P60 chip, has a 48MP + 13MP + 2MP + 5MP quad camera and remote with NFC support for electronic payments. If you are interested in knowing it in depth, you just have to keep reading.

A design that does not give away the price
For its adjusted price, the Elephone U5 is not bad, its metallic frame with a glossy finish and beveled sides feels good to the eye and to the touch, although like all mobile phones larger than 6 inches, it can be a bit slippery without the use of a cover. .
The rear is governed by a photographic module that protrudes slightly from the surface and houses 4 sensors along with an LED flash. There is no fingerprint reader here, and the screen is LCD, so logically we will find it on the right side, conveniently perching on top of the power button .
In case you are wondering, the terminal has dimensions of 157 x 75.9 x 8.5 mm and weighs about 180 grams, showing that it is a compact and slim mobile. Also, the color presentations are blue and black with a glossy finish.
At the bottom it consists of a USB type C 2.0 port for charging and data transfer, while on the left side is the card tray, which has enough slots for two Nano SIMs and one Micro-SD. Finally, it consists of a classic 3.5mm audio jack on the top.
Screen
Mounting a 6.4-inch screen with Full HD resolution of 2,310 x 1,080 pixels , the Elephone U5 does very well in this regard, offering an image quality that we cannot complain about.
It should be noted that the panel has a hole in the upper left corner for the selfie camera and occupies 93.38% of the front.
Hardware and Features
Under the hood beats a 2.0Ghz octa-core Helio P60 chip , which is paired with a Mali-G72 MP3 GPU. It is a Chip that is quite widespread in its range and, although it has been on the market for a few years, it remains a fairly competent option.
Complementing the chipset we will get 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage , a figure that is not only generous, but can also be expanded up to 512GB via Micro-SD. In general, it is a fairly capable set when it comes to running games and day-to-day applications, which is comparable to that of a Redmi 9.
Powering the device is a 4,000mAh battery , a mediocre capacity today, but one that we can excuse thanks to the 18-watt fast charge.
The operating system of the moment is Android 10, and we must say that the manufacturer has done well to keep it clean of any custom interface. The only criticism is that it is a number behind the latest version available (Android 11), and that there is no guarantee that you will receive it via update.
In terms of connectivity, the Elephone U5 offers everything usual in this price range, but with a little surprise. In this sense, it supports dual-band Wi- Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, 4G LTE Dual-SIM, GPS and NFC for electronic payments , which puts the cherry on the cake and distinguishes this terminal in its respective category.
Cameras : Elephone is another of those Chinese manufacturers that tries to emulate Xiaomi’s
The Elephone U5 has a quad camera headed by a 48MP main sensor with a size of 1 / 1.2 and digital stabilizer, which is supported by a 13MP ultra-wide angle camera with a 120 ° field of view. To top it off, it consists of a 5MP macro camera and a 2MP depth sensor. Finally, the front camera is 24MP and supports 2D facial recognition.
While it sounds excellent on paper and on par with more expensive terminals, it is important to remember that the sensors used in mobile phones are of lower quality. Therefore, the photographic quality is not the great thing and it is typical for a terminal of this range; although if the lighting plays in your favor you can undoubtedly get good shots. Also, don’t expect a lot of default settings (just format selector, timer, HDR, and location).
