Find and hunt the Kulve Taroth in Monster Hunter World
A guide with everything you need to get hold of the weapons and armor of the Kulve Taroth.
The 3.0 update is now available in Monster Hunter: World on PS4 and Xbox One. Among other things, it includes the debut of an unreleased monster in the Capcom franchise, the Kulve Taroth . Nicknamed the “treasure dragon” in previous leaks, it arrives in the company of a new map, El Dorado, as well as a new type of mission called assault. In this guide, we show you how to find and hunt down the Kulve Taroth.
Before starting, you should keep in mind that the Kulve Karoth does not appear as if nothing on the mission board. You must meet a series of requirements and go through a small process before you can face it, and some may take time! Although if you faced the Deviljho in the previous patch, you are probably more than ready to face this event.
How to find Deviljho and the new cloak in Monster Hunter World
- Complete the main campaign of Monster Hunter: World.
- Have a hunter rank equal to or greater than 16.
- Having discovered a golden scale.
Preliminary steps to enter the mission
- After installing the update, you will have to find the trail of the Kulve Taroth in any mission. Immediately, we recommend that you go to Area 1 of the Ancient Forest and examine the remains next to a ledge. The lafarillos will mark it, it has no loss.
- After finding the golden scale, return to Astera and speak to the Admiral, who awaits your return. You will start a mandatory dialogue to contextualize the arrival of the monster to the New World.
- After this, you can start or join a squad from the social space in the highest area of Astera.
The Assault on the Kulve Taroth is designed to be completed between 16 players . This means that you can participate and complete the mission alone, but it will be a much more difficult task than normal because, unlike in the rest of the missions in Monster Hunter: World, the parameters of the monster will not be scaled to suit you. . Therefore, the ideal is to find an open room specifically to hunt this monster.
That said, you will have to join the mission by talking to the girl from the Hunters Guild. They can go up to four squads of four hunters each. You won’t see hunters from other squads during the mission, but progress is shared by everyone. For example, if a squad in which you do not participate breaks the claws of the Kulve Taroth, you will receive a reduced part of the rewards for completing that task.
Assault on the Kulve Taroth: how to proceedTo the death with the treasure dragon!
The first thing you must do is track the monster, as in any other mission. And it is convenient to globally fill the research bar as much as possible, because it will affect the maximum time you have to complete it. Keep in mind that you will be playing in a new setting, El Dorado, and that the ideal way to move is to hang from the beetles that rest near each ledge.
The mission is not to kill the Kulve Taroth – that is impossible – but to break its horns . Once broken, the mission is terminated and marked as a success. Now, as in any other mission, the assault will reward you better for finishing the investigation better and breaking more parts of the monster. To do this, you will use both your current weapons and the cannons and bombs that are distributed throughout the stage. Collaborate with other players to maximize damage.
Once you complete the mission, the usual rewards screen will not appear. Instead, you will have to go back to Astera’s social area and claim your things by talking to the Guild girl. Among them, you could find tickets for your comrade Felyne’s armor or even special materials that you must take to the blacksmith. These are used to create randomly generated weapons by combining existing weapon parts with golden parts of the Kulve Taroth, so you could participate in the mission as many times as you want in search of better weapons and in gold color.
The Kulve Taroth event will be available in Monster Hunter: World until May 3. If you don’t have time to participate, don’t worry: it will come back later on a rotating basis, although the exact intervals remain to be determined.
