Samsung has unveiled its cards for 2021 and boy does it have a solid bet. We have already met the Galaxy S21 and its Plus version, so now it is the turn of the crown jewel, the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra.
Galaxy S21 Ultra, a completely remarkable difference : Galaxy S21 Ultra, Samsung’s new top of the range
The Galaxy S21 Ultra not only differs from its smaller brothers by its size, but also does so through its photographic module, which houses more (and larger) photographic sensors – As in the Plus version, the Back cover boasts a protective Gorilla Glass Victus film , which promises to have twice the strength of the previous generation.
Looking at the screen we can already note another difference, this time we are dealing with a 6.8-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2x panel , WQHD + resolution (3,200 x 1,400 pixels) and curved design.
For its part, the refresh rate of 120Hz is maintained, and it is also adaptive, but it can vary between 11 and 120Hz automatically and as the situation warrants. It should be noted that the resolution is independent of the refresh rate, so there are no compromises or sacrifices in these aspects.
We cannot forget to mention the S Pen Stylus , which is now supported in the Galaxy S series, although yes, the S Pen Pro with support for Bluetooth air gestures will have to be purchased separately.
In the same way as its siblings, the Galaxy S21 Ultra is IP68 certified against water and dust.
The color presentations this time are only two: black and silver.
Hardware and Features
As expected, the Exynos 2100 is the chip in charge of bringing the Galaxy S21 series to life, and the Ultra model is no exception; Although unlike its brothers, it is accompanied by 12GB or 16GB of RAM , which in turn are paired with 128GB, 256GB or 512GB of internal storage.
With great power comes great responsibility, and the same can be said for the improvements of the Galaxy S21 Ultra, so it is natural to expect an increase in battery, which reaches 5,000mAh this time. However, the potential for fast and wireless charging remain the same, at 25W and 15W, respectively. Naturally, it also supports reverse loading.
Obviously, the operating system is not Android 11 alongside the OneUI 3.1 interface , and the connectivity options range from 5G to Wi- Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.1, and NFC for contactless payments.
On the other hand, what does stand out is the new UBW Tracking function to find other Samsung devices (even offline) and Smart Tags.
Cameras
Moving on to the cameras section, the front one received a sensor with a resolution of up to 40 megapixels, while the main camera has four sensors.
Samsung claims that this is the best mobile camera ever. . . although that remains to be seen. Either way, the wide-angle module has a resolution of 108 megapixels and the ultra-wide module has a 12-megapixel sensor. The camera offers 64 times richer colors and three times the dynamic range of the S20 Ultra. It is also possible to create 12-6 bit RAW files.
As if that were not enough, it has two 10MP telephoto lenses , where one module provides 3x optical zoom and another provides 10x optical zoom, the rest is digital, but the Space Zoom 100x mode stands out , which reaches that amount in digital.
