Highlight the artistic techniques you master

Each private art teacher has his or her preferences and experience.

Of course, when you start teaching drawing classes, it is difficult to say no to students . In general, we are good at what we know, so to have confidence in yourself and satisfy your students, teach what you master best and what you like the most.

  • Are you passionate about oil painting? Make your students perfect in this technique
  • Do you especially like wax and pastel work? Propose drawing classes and art courses around this specific technique.
  • Doesn’t working with natural models motivate you? Do not include this option in your drawing classes.

In a word, in order to properly organize your offer of artistic workshops, it is necessary to previously carry out a work of selection of activities.

Propose topics: oil painting, drawing with sanguine, course with pastels

Organizing intensive visual arts classes, over the course of a day or two for example, can also be a great way to fill your classes.

Simply choose a topic that interests your clientele to ensure a minimum number of students and thus make the artistic course profitable.

Depending on the demand, and to vary, you can dedicate a day or part of it to a particular artistic activity, and thus retain your students in the long term.

You may have the opportunity to have your students:

  • Tuesday for cake
  • Wednesdays for acrylic paint,
  • Saturday to draw with lead mine.
Use different techniques for your painting classes.
The magic of charcoal for portraits.

But all that knowledge, where can you learn it?

Is it imperative to have a diploma to teach drawing classes?

First of all, it is not essential to have this or that diploma to teach the art of drawing to a student. Indeed, the role of the private teacher does not have any training imperative.

Only prerogatives: be at least 14 years old (minimum age required by law) and of course, declare your income.

Anyway, if you want to attract more students to your classes, having some diplomas will not be too much.

You can do Baccalaureate in the Art modality, go to the Faculty of Fine Arts or have a master’s degree in visual creation.
