    Hajime Tabata left Square Enix in 2018 to found JP Games, an independent studio.

    Two and a half years have passed since Hajime Tabata left Square Enix to found JP Games, his own independent studio. Over two years in which not much was known about the Final Fantasy XV director’s upcoming projects – until now. In the latest issue of Famitsu magazine, shared by Gematsu, the veteran Japanese developer has advanced some details of the next JP Games games , and beware, it seems that they are going for everything: they will be 2 large games, inspired by FFXV and Final Fantasy Type-0 .

     

    Two works that, coincidentally, ended up directed by Tabata . In his words for the Japanese magazine, the creator affirms that they are developing both projects in collaboration with important companies in the sector. “Both are large-scale games , ” he says, suggesting a Triple A span. On these titles, Tabata describes the first project as a high-paced experimental RPG , and an “evolution of Type-0.” Will he have resumed work on that canceled Type-0 sequel ?

    As explained by the aforementioned medium, its intention is to condense the RPG aspects of the game so that players can complete each tour in less time, and make it have a lot of replayability in multiplayer. For its part, the second project aims to be an open world RPG with the ambition of a Triple A , described as an “evolution of Final Fantasy XV”, offering free exploration on a large scale.
