Monster Hunter Stories 2 was not originally planned on PC: it will be there thanks to the players themselves
Capcom usually leaves the compatible version of this saga in the background.
Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin is about to hit stores, with the particularity that it will be available on Nintendo Switch and PC simultaneously . In the past, Capcom had developed a habit of prioritizing consoles over compatible in this series (in MH World and MH Rise) so the release plan for this installment is quite a surprise, right?
Well, the most curious thing is that, in reality, the PC version was not even originally raised. Speaking to Siliconera, the producer of the saga Ryozo Tsujimoto explains the logic behind this fortunate sequence of irregularities: “We decided to make a version mid-project. After deciding so many requests from users , we decided on the PC version and the development program allowed us to launch at the same time. “
“We wanted the PC version to help the game to be a title that could be enjoyed by a wider variety of players,” adds the creative. On the other hand, art director Takahiro Kawano points out that this choice of platforms has allowed the team to create more open spaces , better defined textures for equipment and monsters, or a greater degree of expression for leaves or water.
Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin arrives on July 9, although as is often the case in these games, the first day is just the beginning. This week, Capcom shared the game’s launch trailer along with co-op gameplay and, perhaps more importantly, a roadmap with five content updates scheduled for this year.
