    MULTIPURPOSE TURNED BENCH: FURNISHING IN MONTESSORI STYLE

    If you have a baby who goes to the nursery or nursery, you will almost certainly have seen at least one. We are talking about the multipurpose turned bench, one object, three educational functions. MULTIPURPOSE TURNED BENCH: FURNISHING IN MONTESSORI STYLE

    FURNISH IN MONTESSORI STYLE WITH THE MULTIPURPOSE TURNED BENCH

    The multipurpose turned bench is one of the furnishing accessories suggested for the organization of a Montessori-style bedroom.

    It is a small bench, in fact, which depending on how it is placed on the floor changes the height of the seat so as to become accessible to the little ones, or it changes its function by transforming itself into something else.

    In fact, in a single object we have:

    • a seat with a height of 17 cm;
    • a seat with a height of 22 cm;
    • a coffee table 31 cm high.

    The child can thus autonomously adapt the object to their own measurements and use it while growing up. It is in fact a light and manageable object, precisely in line with the Montessori method which, as we will see in the next paragraphs, indicates the use of objects that do not require the intervention of adults to be used.

    The bench is then completely turned, so it has no corners or edges in order to avoid trauma in the event of accidental bumps or falls.

    TURNED BENCH: NURSERY AND KINDERGARTEN

    As said at the beginning, this bench is often encountered in nurseries, both in the one-seat version and in the larger three-seat version , which the little ones manage independently according to age and activities: from changing their shoes to I arrive, at the support to do some chores.

    The bench is a Montessori object useful for children from 0 to 5 years and therefore used in many nurseries and nurseries, or preschools.

    The bench is made for the maximum safety of the little ones and the colors used are non-toxic and water-based that let the wood grain shine through.

    MONTESSORI METHOD AT A GLANCE

    We mentioned the Montessori method and Montessori games and products for applying the method, but let’s take a small step back.

    Maria Montessori was an educator, pedagogist, philosopher, doctor, child neuropsychiatrist and scientist born in 1870, and during the years of studies she developed an educational method that has revolutionized pedagogical approaches.

    The method follows the “natural development” of the child, using objects, games, tools and furnishing accessories that allow the child to learn and memorize through direct experience, such as the use of a bench that has three different functions and which must be moved and placed differently to obtain the desired use.

    MONTESSORI GAMES AND PRODUCTS: SOME EXAMPLES

    There are many Montessori objects useful for applying the method, let’s see some of them.

    My Montessori box of animals

    My Montessori box of animals is the indispensable material in Montessori pedagogy, the classified nomenclatures serve to enrich the child’s vocabulary and prepare him for writing and reading. The cards in this box will respond to the child’s innate curiosity for animals and his need to sort and classify his knowledge. This box contains: 7 frosted maps of the continents, 50 maps of animals and 1 book of 64 pages to discover each animal presented.

    Find the notes with the bells

    Game dedicated to learning the first musical notions. The little one can reconstruct the sequence of the notes, associating them with the different colors of the bells. Once you have associated notes and colors, you will be able to reproduce the 7-note sequence again but using the bells all of the same color.

    Lacing doll

    A “matryoshka” in soft touch fabric, made of dolls that have the different types of lacing that the child encounters in his daily experience: buttonholes and buttons, strings, poussoir, zipper, hooks and hook and loop closure.

    By playing with dolls, your little one will learn to intuitively open and close shoes and clothes.
