NEWS IN TECHNOLOGY
A busy week in the technology sector, so our frog wants to give you a summary of what is most important, impressive and creative.
The first banner: NEWS IN TECHNOLOGY
We read in the news that it is the anniversary of the banner’s birth, although it was actually in October 1994 when it was first seen on the HotWired.com website, devised and created by Joe McCambley, co-founder of the agency The Worderfactory.
This first banner was a success, 44% of the people who saw it clicked on it.
Advertising on the Internet has always been present, in one form or another.
Responsive Web Design is almost left behind: NEWS IN TECHNOLOGY
A Croatian designer, Marko Dugonji ?, has taken a giant step forward in facilitating the web user experience. Through any webcam, the user’s head is detected, to calculate, when loading the web page, what is the best size based on the distance from the person’s head to the monitor and, in real time, modify this size.
They are even talking about how unnecessary it is to have a native mobile application, since this new technology offers the user the same comfort when browsing as mobile apps.
But there is still more, they consider this novelty as transitory, since other types of technologies based on proximity sensors are being investigated.
A mouse that levitates: NEWS IN TECHNOLOGY
It’s called Bat, designed by Vadim Kibardin, and it’s a computer mouse that levitates to prevent users from suffering from Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. The idea, novel, but its appearance is simple, the set consists of a base on which there is a magnet. The mouse is then attached to a magnetic ring and of course, the base and the ring, both magnetized, let the mouse levitate.
Holds up to 1 kilogram of weight and levitates at 10 millimeters. Market studies are currently being done to ensure acceptance among the public.
And speaking of curious mice, do you know Mouseless? an invisible mouse! Great progress, right?
Google Maps for mobile new feature!
Since yesterday the Google Maps mobile application includes a new function to guide users through the interior of 67 Spanish buildings, such as the Prado Museum, Barajas airport, or the Autonomous University of Barcelona.
Now for example, if we are in a shopping center, museum or airport, instead of having to look at the static plans, users will be able to find the desired location inside the facilities directly from their mobile.
The Spanish WhatsApp
Have you also been left without WhatsApp or have you had to pay for it? Here comes the Spanish alternative! Its name is Spotbros and it has reached one million registered users with only 10 workers and it is to be commended that they have managed to reach this figure in less time than it took Facebook and Twitter.
Complaints about instant messaging security? Spotbros encrypts conversations with the same encryption system the United States uses for its secret documents, and deletes them from servers in up to 30 days.
And so far the most important and creative developments in design and technological development. Tell us your impressions!
