No More Mortal Kombat 11: NetherRealm Leaves Game Development To Focus On His Next Project

With no new IPs planned, this means that Injustice 3 could be on the horizon.

You can consider Mortal Kombat 11 officially finished: the official account of the game on Twitter has issued a short statement explaining the matter. The reason behind this decision? Simple, NetherRealm Studios is focusing its efforts on its next project and it seems the time has come to redistribute development resources.

MK11 has received all kinds of updates and DLC over the last two years, as its own people remember. If you were waiting for a moment like this to get hold of the game and all its downloadable material, look for the Ultimate version in your preferred store: it includes the base game with two character packs and the Aftermath expansion.

With Mileena, Rain and Rambo, the game’s character roster stays at 37 fighters including the guests (Joker, RoboCop, Terminator and Spawn). Now, the question is what NetherRealm will be doing in the near future, and the most likely bet is Injustice 3 . Warner Bros. announced a few days ago that they will focus on exploiting their IPs instead of making new ones. Be that as it may, it is worth paying attention to any official statement.

Meanwhile, fans are divided: some are demanding new balance adjustments in service of the competitive community , while others are pleased with the eponymous film that opened in April. In addition, we already have the first trailer for the next feature film in the franchise, Mortal Kombat Legends: Battle of the Realms .
