Octopath Traveler 2? Creators celebrate JRPG anniversary by hinting at possible sequel
The Bravely Default study is currently working on the so-called ‘Project Triangle Strategy’, announced for 2022.
Three years have passed since the launch of Octopath Traveler . Three years exactly, because yesterday the third anniversary of the premiere of this JRPG was celebrated by the creators of Bravely Default , which caught Nintendo Switch users thanks to a very striking 2.5D art style , before making the leap to other platforms. And it is seen that in their study they want to continue with the adventure.
On the occasion of its anniversary, the official Japanese Octopath Traveler account on Twitter has published a message of thanks, where they hint at the development of a sequel . “Today, July 13, marks the third anniversary of Octopath Traveler! Thank you all very much for your warm messages of congratulations,” states the study, shared by Nintendo Life.
“The development team will work hard so that we can embark on a new adventure with all of you !”, They add at the end of the message. A new adventure? Does that mean they work on an Octopath Traveler 2 ? For now this should not be taken as a confirmation of its existence. Especially because the study could perfectly refer to games like Project Triangle Strategy , which has been officially announced, or the recent Bravely Default Brilliant Lights for iOS and Android .
But that hasn’t stopped fans of his classic-style JRPG from dreaming of a sequel behind this message. After its launch on Nintendo Switch, Octopath Traveler arrived a year later on PC and this same year it has landed on Xbox One, in addition to being available on Stadia. In the two Microsoft platforms it is included with Xbox Game Pass , the game catalog that allows you to subscribe for 1 euro the first month . If you never got to play it, and you feel like taking turns role-playing for the summer, here’s our Octopath Traveler review .
