Phil Spencer talks about adding Xbox Game Pass on Nintendo and PlayStation platforms

In a recent interview with Gamesradar , Xbox CEO Phil Spencer discussed Xbox Game Pass , and future plans for this subscription service. One of the most interesting questions Phil answered was about the addition of Game Pass on Nintendo and PlayStation consoles .
When asked this, Phil explained that the company’s efforts lay elsewhere . “Mainly, it’s because those platforms don’t want something like Game Pass.” The question in question was only talking about the addition of Xbox Game Pass on Nintendo Switch, but by mentioning “those platforms”, it is clear that Phil was referring to PlayStation, and perhaps other consoles as well.

Phil also explained that he understands the position of the other companies, and that Game Pass is not the “boom” that other platforms need, even if they are able to incorporate this Xbox service without difficulties. According to him, Game Pass would be a “break” for the ecosystems of these consoles, because adding it in places like PS4 or Nintendo Switch, it would have to be the full experience of the service. This means that Xbox exclusive titles should be welcomed in the competition.
Although watching Xbox Game Pass on Nintendo or PlayStation platforms sounds impossible at the moment, Phil does not rule out that one day it may happen.
