As expected, Xiaomi has officially launched the Redmi Note 10 series. The series includes a total of 5 devices, namely Redmi Note 10, Note 10S, Note 10 5G, Note 10 Pro and Note 10 Pro Max. The famous Xiaomi mid-range series boasts on this occasion Super AMOLED screens, Qualcomm Snapdragon chips, 33W fast charging, cameras up to 108 MP and much more.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 10, the starting point: Redmi Note 10 series, this is Xiaomi’s new mid-range lineup
The standard Redmi Note 10 has a 6.43-inch FHD + Super AMOLED display (2400 x 1080 pixels) with perforation for the selfie camera, maximum brightness level up to 1,100 nits, 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and a standard refresh rate of 60HZ.
The back of this phone is made of polycarbonate, but it has a camera arrangement similar to its older brothers. We also want to direct our attention to the fingerprint reader, which has been moved to the right side in all the terminals of the Redmi Note 10 series.
The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 678 paired with 4GB or 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 64 / 128GB UFS 2.2 internal storage. As expected from Xiaomi, the battery that powers this terminal (and all those in the series) has a capacity of 5,000mAh and supports 33W fast charging.
The operating system that we will find on board the lineup is Android 11, but with the obvious implementation of MIUI 12 as a user interface.
Moving on to the photography realm, the four-camera setup includes a 48MP primary sensor (Sony IMX582) , an 8MP ultra-wide lens with a 118 ° field of view, a 2MP macro lens, and a 2MP depth sensor. Finally, it includes a 13MP front camera for selfies and video calls.
The connectivity options of this phone include dual SIM, 4G, VoLTE, VoWiFi, dual band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.0, and GNSS.
As an added incentive, the Redmi Note 10 has Hi-Res audio certification, stereo speakers , dual microphones and a “Z-Axis” vibration motor for immersive audio.
Note 10S
The Redmi Note 10S is similar to the base version, but with the marked difference that it replaces the Snapdragon 678 chip with a MediaTek Helio G95 . Also, this time the memory configurations are the following: 6GB RAM + 64GB / 128GB ROM and 8GB RAM + 128GB.
As a last difference we have the camera, which raises the resolution of the main sensor from 48MP to 64MP in the Redmi Note 10S. According to Xiaomi, this is a tremendous improvement over the previous generation and even beats some flagships in terms of pixels.
From this point on, the terminals are virtually identical in their specifications, so there is no point in repeating them.
Redmi Note 10 Pro and Pro Max: 108MP camera and 120Hz screen
The Redmi Note 10 Pro and Note 10 Pro Max have an identical set of specs, except for the rear camera setup. The Pro employs a 64MP main camera (Samsung GW3), while the Pro Max has a 108MP main sensor (Samsung HM2).
The remaining cameras on both are an 8MP ultra-wide lens, a 5MP telemacro camera, and a 2MP depth sensor. With that said, it’s time to move on to the points you have in common.
On the front, the duo flaunt a 6.67-inch Super AMOLED FHD + (2400 x 1080 pixels) display with a 120HZ refresh rate. The panel has a maximum brightness of 1200 nits, covers 100% of the DCI-P3 color gamut, has TÜV Rheinland certification that guarantees low blue light emission, supports HDR10 and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. In case outside little, they have a 16MP perforated selfie camera.
Likewise, both phones are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 732G chip paired with either 6GB or 8GB of RAM. The internal storage options range from 64GB / 128GB and the batteries receive an imperceptible increase to 5,020mAh, but maintaining the same charging power (33W) as the rest of the phones in the series.
The operating system, connectivity options and additional features of the standard Redmi Note 10 are repeated in these terminals. However, in terms of aesthetics there is a notable difference between the Pro models and the base models: the rear cover of the former is made of glass and sports a matte finish alongside a different camera arrangement.
Note 10 5G, bringing 5G to the masses: Redmi Note 10 series, this is Xiaomi’s new mid-range lineup
The 5G version of the Redmi Note 10 is considerably different from the other terminals in the lineup. First of all, the screen has a diagonal of 6.5 inches (Full HD +) and exhibits an adaptive refresh rate of 90Hz. Interestingly, Xiaomi has chosen to use LCD technology instead of AMOLED for the screen.
The processor on board the Note 10 5G is a MediaTek Dimensity 700 , which provides 5G connectivity on the NSA and SA bands. Complementing it we will find 4 / 6GB of RAM along with 64GB or 128GB of internal storage. The battery retains the same capacity as the base model, but the fast charge drops to 18W.
Lastly, the camera settings break down as follows: 48MP (main), 2MP (macro), 2MP (depth). The selfie camera also suffers cuts, and stays at 8MP.
