The South Korean manufacturer’s flagship, the Samsung Galaxy S10 , has just received its respective June firmware update, which contains this month’s security patch, as well as a new feature for the Galaxy S10 camera. To be specific, a QR code scanner has been added to the camera app , thus eliminating the need to have to resort to Bixby Vision or a third party app each time you want to scan one of these codes.
Samsung Galaxy S10 series receives QR scanner : Samsung Galaxy S10, now with native QR code scanner
This useful feature arrives in the latest G97 * FXXU2ASF3 firmware update , which should reach all Samsung Galaxy S10, S10 Plus and S10e users in a matter of days via OTA (Over-the-air). So, if you own one of these terminals and you still don’t see the available update, don’t worry, since it is a matter of time to receive it.
The QR code scanner will be available from the default camera app. To use it, just have the option activated (camera settings) and point your phone’s camera at the QR code, it should be automatically detected shortly after.
In turn, Samsung has added a direct shortcut to the camera’s QR code scanner in the notification bar of the interface , which should be useful to access it instantly. As a reminder, the Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy Note 9 received this feature a week ago along with the night photography mode of the Samsung Galaxy S10, this also through the June update.
As mentioned above, the update will be coming to all Galaxy S10 series models in the days to come, both for the versions that use Exynos and Snapdragon CPUs .
