SCHOOL BEGINS: WHAT DO I PUT IN MY BACKPACK?
It’s time to go back to school, to see your friends again, to start a new school year and learn many new things. The most frequent doubt for mothers and fathers is what to put in their child’s backpack for the first day. Keeping in mind that in some schools it is the teachers themselves who give detailed indications on what to buy (and therefore in this case we advise you to wait for their instructions), below we will list the basic material you need to face the school year. SCHOOL BEGINS: WHAT DO I PUT IN MY BACKPACK?
BACKPACK
The backpack is the element that will accompany the child throughout the year. Whether it is branded or not, or with cartoon characters, with or without trolley, the important thing is that it is comfortable, roomy, resistant, with wide shoulder straps and a padded backrest.
CASE
The case must contain all the stationery material that the child will need to write and draw; for this reason, as for the backpack, the case must also be resistant and of quality. It is good to opt for those with multiple compartments in which to divide the colored pencils from the markers, the pens from the other accessories, perhaps choosing those with two or three zips. Alternatively, you can choose our pouch, customizable by children!
MARKERS AND COLORED PENCILS
Children love to color and during the school year they will use lots of markers and pencils to make real works of art!
The markers can be coarse-tipped or fine-tipped; for kindergarten and for the first years of primary school it is preferable to choose those with a thick tip to facilitate the art of drawing, while for more detailed and precise drawings you can take the fine tip markers.

The pencils also have a thick point and a fine point, but differ in other characteristics: there are pencils with a triangular shaft and those with a hexagonal shaft, those with a natural shaft and those with a lacquered shaft, those that are recyclable and those that can be watercolored.
Also for pencils, the choice will depend on the age of the child and the type of school; surely if even the surface of the pencils is colored, it will be easier for children to find the right color, so in this case pencils with a lacquered barrel are preferable .
It is good to buy an assortment of 12 or 24 pencils, considering that some colors (such as red, yellow, blue and green) will be used more than others and therefore must then be purchased individually. In addition, the internal mines break easily and fall so, in order not to compromise their duration, focus on quality.

QUILLS
For the first few years of primary school, erasable pens are often required; this is the case of the Frixion Pen by Pilot, a pen with a soft and fluid line, erasable and refillable. The perfect cancellation of the ink occurs through a slight friction of the special plastic hemisphere, which leaves no residue and does not damage the erased area.
Subsequently, you can choose the Stabilo spherograph , equipped with an ergonomic handle, also erasable and refillable; however, the spherograph is already a pen for adults because, unlike the Frixion, it can be erased only once!
STATIONERY
In addition to the space for markers, pencils and pens, certainly in the case there is one for stationery of various types: eraser , sharpener , ruler , glue and scissors .
Q UADERNI AND DIARY
For almost all subjects the use of a notebook on which to do the exercises is foreseen. The ruling and the grid are divided according to the classes, such as the need to have the sheets with or without margin.
During the year dozens of notebooks will be used by children, so it is good to make sure of the type of notebook you need and then buy in quantity to cover the entire school period.
Are you looking for notebooks? Find them here!
In the first years of elementary school, the diary is often not required; the teachers usually use a notebook to write down the most important homework, grades, notes and annotations. For the following years, however, the child can choose the diary he prefers, with images of the sport he is passionate about or the cartoon he likes best.
BINDING AND LABELING
The notebooks and books will be picked up by the children countless times, placed inside the satchel, on the counter, on the table at home to do their homework. The risk of tearing the cover and ruining them is very high. But just to overcome this problem, it is possible to use colored notebook covers, which also allow you to identify each subject: the notebook with the red cover is for Italian, the blue one for mathematics and so on.
For books it is possible to do the same thing, using the book cover with adhesive edge or the transparent plastic in rolls . In this way the protection is assured!
In addition, it is good to label all the material we put in the backpack by writing on it the name and surname of the child: from the notebook to the colored pencil, from the book to the eraser. In this way, our child will be able to recognize his material, avoiding losing it and exchanging it with some companions.
Then there is one thing that every child must have in their backpack but that cannot be bought anywhere; it is the desire to learn and learn new things, it is the desire to relate to others and make new friends. In this way, the desire to go to school every day will only increase!
Good school everyone!
