The preparation course for the free tests of Professional Training in Superior Technician of Radiotherapy and Dosimetry prepares you to work in the health sector, in public bodies and institutions and in private companies, in radiotherapy oncology units, Hospital Radiophysics, in technical units of radiological protection and in research centers. You will carry out your work under the supervision of the corresponding physician and the installation supervisor, with the corresponding accreditation as an operator of radioactive facilities granted by the Nuclear Safety Council (CSN). His professional activity is subject to regulation by the State Health Administration.

You will be able to obtain your  Official  Higher Technical Degree in Radiotherapy and Dosimetry  by passing the  Direct Tests for  the Professional Training Degree *   called by the CCAA under RD 1147/2011.

This preparatory course for obtaining the Official Title of Higher Degree Professional Training in Radiotherapy and Dosimetry , addresses the following topics: 

  • Organize and manage the technician’s work area within the radiotherapy and / or hospital radiotherapy service, according to standard procedures and applying stock control and storage techniques.
  • Differentiate normal and pathological images. at basic levels, applying anatomical criteria.
  • Verify the operation of the equipment, applying quality and safety procedures.
  • Verify the quality of the medical images obtained, following criteria of suitability and quality control of the processing.
  • Elaborate the complements and accessories necessary for the simulation of the radiotherapy treatment, using the appropriate materials.
  • Apply initial healthcare techniques, following the technical procedures of the unit.
  • Obtain images to simulate radiotherapy treatment, using the appropriate complements and accessories according to the characteristics of the patient and the body region.
  • Carry out clinical dosimetry through virtual simulation of the treatment.
  • Apply radiotherapy treatments following treatment optimization criteria.
  • Carry out the physical dosimetry of the treatment equipment according to the conditions of the quality assurance program.
  • Apply radiation protection procedures according to established protocols.

Title

With this course you will be able to prepare yourself to pass the direct tests for the Professional Training Degree called by the CCAA under Royal Decree 1147/2011. To do this, you will learn the fundamental theoretical knowledge to successfully pass the tests of each module. With the overcoming of the official face-to-face tests of FP you will obtain the official title of Superior Technician in Radiotherapy and Dosimetry .

previous requirements

In order to access a medium degree cycle, you must meet one of the following requirements:

– Be in possession of a Bachelor’s degree  or a higher academic level.

– Be in possession of a title of Superior Technician or Specialist Technician .

– Have passed the University Orientation course. (COU) or Pre-university.

– Be in possession of any University Degree or equivalent.

– Possess a title of Medium Degree Technician .

– Have passed the entrance exam to higher level training cycles. To apply, you must be at least 19 years old in the year that the test is carried out or 18 for those who have the title of Technician related to the cycle you want to access. There are partial exemptions from the test regulated by each Autonomous Community.

– Have passed the university entrance exam for people over 25 years of age.
