Take-Two buys Dynamixyz, a facial animation company that worked on Red Dead Redemption 2
The parent company of Rockstar and 2K Games is looking to expand its internal development capacity on a technological level.
Large companies in the sector not only seek to expand with new video game studios, but also with companies specialized in very specific development fields. This is the case of Take-Two Interactive , which has announced the acquisition of Dynamixyz , a firm specialized in facial animation services number one in its field, and with credits in Red Dead Redemption 2 among other works.
As presented by its new owners in a statement , Dynamixyz has at its disposal a suite of state- of-the-art proprietary 3D processing, facial analysis and motion capture tools that combines computer graphics, machine vision and a machine learning method that has enabled you to led to work during the last decade with several important companies in the world of entertainment, starting with Take-Two Interactive itself (Red Dead Redemption 2, NBA 2K21 ) and continuing with Marvel Studios and the blockbuster Avengers: Endgame.
By taking over the reins of Dynamixyz, Take-Two Interactive seeks to strengthen its internal development capabilities in its goal of being the most creative, innovative and efficient entertainment company . “Dynamixyz has a well-earned reputation for providing the broadest and smartest range of facial motion capture solutions for the entertainment industry, and their work has captivated millions of people around the world, from theaters to our homes.” says Michael Worosz, Executive Vice President of Take-Two.
For his part, Gaspard Breton, CEO of Dynamixyz, has been excited about the agreement and being able to become an exclusive partner of studios with such talent as Rockstar. At the moment the amount of the operation has not transcended .
