Smartphones like the UMIDIGI A7 Pro and UMIDIGI A7S are proof of how far entry-level mobiles have come in recent years, offering features that just a couple of years ago would have cost us hundreds of euros. Anyway, this time we will get to know the UMIDIGI A7 Pro in depth, as it perfectly exemplifies this premise. 

Although the UMIDIGI A7 Pro does not deserve a special award or recognition for something specific, it is a very balanced mobile with a quality / price / performance ratio that justifies its existence in a market as disputed as this one. Therefore, it is worth considering it as an alternative to mobiles of the same range that are more popular (such as the  Redmi  9),  especially  when we consider that it is worth just over 100 euros.

For its price, the UMIDIGI A7 Pro looks quite good, imitating that design that prevails in higher-end terminals, that is, it sports a 2.5D glass back cover with rounded edges and has a metal frame that provides robustness to the body. On the back there is a rectangular module for the 4 cameras, as well as a fingerprint reader in the center. 

On the front we will find one of the greatest virtues of the UMIDIGI A7 Pro, its screen. It is a 6.3-inch LCD panel with a 19.5: 9 aspect ratio and a resulting resolution of 2,340 x 1,080 pixels, which translates into FHD +. As you can see, it has a notch for the front camera and in general the space is well used (92.7% screen-to-body ratio). It does not support HDR, but it does support dark mode and color temperature adjustment. 

There is nothing to highlight on the side edges of the device, but we can point out that both the USB port (type C) and the 3.5mm audio jack are at the bottom. 

Hardware and Features 

The UMIDIGI A7 Pro ensures us a performance more than appropriate for day-to-day applications thanks to its  eight-core MediaTek Helio P23 chip  ; The CPU is paired with a MALI G71 MP2 GPU that does a decent job in games and 3D applications and is supported by 4GB of RAM . It also has a generous 128GB of internal storage , which can be expanded up to 256GB via Micro-SD (dedicated slot).   

Powering the device we will find a 4,150mAh battery that promises one or two days of duration based on use. It should be noted that the manufacturer indicates that it consists of fast charging, but a power of 10W can hardly be classified as fast. 

That aside, the operating system is stock Android 10 , being clean of any custom layers or  bloatware , which is a bonus in our opinion. The set doesn’t break any performance records or anything like that, but for the price it’s satisfactory and we have to give it extra points for trying. 

The connectivity options are the usual in this price range, it has dual band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and 4G Dual SIM.

At the photo appointment we found a quad camera , which is headed by a 16MP Samsung S5K2P7 sensor and a 16MP super wide-angle camera with a 120 ° field of view. To top it off, there are two 5MP sensors that respond to the macro and depth functions. 

Lastly, the selfie camera   outlines a 16MP sensor with 5-element lens , F / 2.0 aperture, beauty filter, and 2D facial recognition.
