Warframe breaks its Steam activity record: almost 200,000 players turned out to watch TennoCon

Such a level of success comes with some difficulties in joining a relay and watching the event live.

If you play Warframe , you will undoubtedly know that the annual TennoCon fair took place last weekend , where the Canadian team of Digital Extremes presents great news for their fantastic free to play action game. This year’s edition has been very well received in general. So much so that it has wreaked havoc within the game.

Regarding the Steam Database, Warframe broke its historical record of activity on the Valve platform during the event, which can be easily explained if we consider that it was possible to follow the live video in-game, through the screens that we find inside of the relays that act as social spaces or bases of operations. With such high data traffic, joining a relay was an almost impossible task.

The count rises to 189,837 simultaneous players , a very high figure that doesn’t really do the game justice because within the PC ecosystem it is also available on the Epic Games Store and on its own client. All that, not counting the huge user base that has been expanded by the Xbox and PlayStation consoles of two generations, as well as Nintendo Switch.

As we said, during the Warframe event it presented the expansion The New War , which will arrive in the coming months with a clear focus on the narrative (following in the wake of other missions of its main campaign) and details as interesting as the possibility of controlling a Grineer or play as Teshin. The long-awaited features of cross-play and cross-save were also announced .
