What are the different subjects of the ELE degrees?
The subjects may vary from one faculty to another, but the main content of the studies is the same.
Letters, language sciences, Spanish-speaking world, ELE didactics … what will you be able to see in ELE classes ? The option of studying a Bachelor of Arts is an option open to everyone who wants to start their training in ELE.
The professors teach subjects that are more or less common to all the universities in Spain. Here is a short description of the subjects covered in ELE studies:
Phonetics , which will help non-Spanish speakers to understand and assimilate the particularities of our language.
Introduction to the fundamentals of linguistics , which will allow them to understand the functioning of our mother tongue and the teaching of Spanish.
Methodology , closely linked to the linguistic introduction, which will allow you to focus on specific points that often pose learning problems and that must be solved later.
Spanish culture and literature classes , in order to have specific references and link language and culture, because, as you well know, they go hand in hand in learning any language.
Civilization classes, which are related to Spanish culture classes.
Grammar and vocabulary classes , to see and review the basic concepts of teaching Spanish.
Theory of language , because ideas often arise from the practice of oral language .
An additional foreign language , in most cases (either English, French, German), which will help you diversify your language skills.
As you can see, there are many subjects, but there are many more that will depend on the university.
Between theory and practice, it is up to you to compare the programs of the different faculties, and see which one best corresponds to what you are looking for. What are the different subjects of the ELE degrees?
