What are the Goethe-Institut German exams?

The Goethe-Institut is the equivalent of our Instituto Cervantes for the ELE, or the Alliance Française for Spanish and the University of Cambridge for the language of Shakespeare.
This non-profit cultural institution is one of the standards for the dissemination of Teutonic culture in many cities around the world.
Courses are offered directly, although we know this center above all for its Goethe Institut certificates, which correspond to the different levels.
Adults will be able to validate from level A1 to C2 by passing the corresponding exam:
The Start Deutsch 1 (A1 level) addresses the neophytes who only speak a few words of German;
The Start Deutsch 2 (level A2) crosses a first threshold with the understanding of everything essential to live in a Germanic country;
The Goethe-Zertifikat B1 is a first qualification certification, a German worthy of the name must be tested;
the Goethe-Zertifikat B2 for those who want to speak the language fluently;
the Goethe-Zertifikat C1 , once validated, is a true step towards bilingualism;
the Großes Deutsches Sprachdiplom (level C1) is the panacea: speak German as well as the natives!

In all cases, you have to pay the registration fees (which vary depending on the exam) and there are four skills that are evaluated:
written comprehension;
oral comprehension;
written expression;
oral expression.
Do not neglect any aspect of studying a foreign language.
The Goethe-Institut does everything to help candidates, providing them with old exams, corrections and supports to practice.
They have not forgotten the youngest, since there are two certificates for junior beginners:
the Fit in Deutsch 1 to level A1;
the Fit in Deutsch 2 to level A2.
There is not a big difference from the tests mentioned above, apart from a more playful presentation and topics more to the taste of teenagers.
