Although it has been shown that the practice of sport can contribute to the burning of fat, physical activity also implies an increase in muscle mass and, therefore, weight. A study prepared by the Observatory of Nutrition and the Study of Obesity of the Spanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition , showed that the rate of growth worldwide is very strong but that in Spain, especially, we are suffering from serious problems due to this condition. The worst thing is that it seems to affect especially the child and youth population, with more than 30 percent of children between the ages of 7 and 13 who are overweight. “Today there are ten times more girls and twelve times more boys between the ages of 5 and 19 who suffer from obesity than in 1975”, emphasizes UNICEF in its report The State of the World’s Children .
