Road 96, the procedural narrative adventure from the creator of Valiant Hearts, has a release date

It will arrive on Nintendo Switch and PC starting next August honoring the “road movie” of Tarantino and the Coen.

During the last edition of The Game Awards we met an interesting development called Road 96 , a proposal that arouses our interest when we know that behind the project is the creator of Valiant Hearts and 11-11 Memories Retold . Now, he changes the register leaving behind the First World War to take us on a procedural adventure in which we have to try to reach the border of a country on the brink of collapse.

Our decisions will totally change historyDixiArt, the studio responsible for the game, has finally announced its release date and it will be very soon. Specifically on August 16, it will be available on Nintendo Switch in digital format through the eShop and on PC, from Steam, GOG and the Epic Games Store . It will be priced at 19.95 euros, and 29.95 euros if you opt for a special edition that includes the soundtrack with themes by nine artists and an eBook with key elements that take place 10 years before the events of the game.

Road 96

The premise of the game will lead us to take the role of a teenager trying to get across the border to achieve freedom, but as the summer progresses we will run into moral dilemmas and quite disturbing situations that “can change your initial goal.” Decisions are important in development and it will depend on our options to achieve or not the objective.

The game has an obvious style inspired by the “road movie” and its makers wanted to recreate the experience of random encounters with humans, so the game has a procedural development. Those responsible say it is a “tribute to road trip movies and series, including those of Tarantino and the Coen brothers . ” There is little left to hit the road.
