What strategies to follow to pass Language and obtain the school graduate ?
In 4th year of ESO, the contents that you will have to review are:
- The syntax , you will have to learn the definition and types of sentences and syntagms, to identify and analyze the subject and the predicate (nominal and verbal) of a sentence, the complements of the verb, the impersonal sentences, the predicative sentences (reflexive, reciprocal and passive reflex), compound sentences, coordinated sentences and substantive, adjective, adverbial and improper adverbial subordinate clauses.
- From morphology , you should study the classes of words, their formation, suffixes and prefixes, derived and compound words, lexical loans, lexemes and morphemes, grammatical categories …
- What should you control when it comes to spelling ? Loans, double consonants, Spanish-American spelling, use of the dictionary, slash, dash, hyphen and asterisk, writing of numerals (cardinal, ordinal, Roman numerals), punctuation marks, and oral language , the bibliography and the italics and the words and phrases of doubtful writing.
- With respect to the text and its properties , you will learn to make a text comment, you will study oral and written texts, exposition, argumentation, dialect features and Spanish literature, the characteristics and literature of Catalan, Valencian, Galician and Basque and Spanish in America and Spanish in the world.
- What will you have to study in Literature ? Romanticism, Realism and Naturalism, Modernism and the Generation of ’98, the avant-garde and Noucentisme, the Generation of ’27, literature during the Franco regime, Latin American literature, literature in democracy and literature today.
- As for poetry and literary devices , you will learn rhyme, verse measurement, metaphor, parallelism, epithet, synecdoche, symbol, vocative, hyperbaton, exclamation, enumeration, and comparison.
- The literary works of compulsory reading : the choice of the compulsory reading will depend on the institute where you study. Some of them are: Rimas y leyendas , by Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer, Luces de Bohemia , by Ramón María del Valle-Inclán, El lazarillo de Tormes (anonymous), La casa de Bernarda Alba , by Federico García Lorca and Chronicle of an announced death by Gabriel García Márquez.
How to prepare?
- Take mock exams using those published from previous years with corrections.
- Do dictations on a regular basis.
- Prepare study cards.
- Choose a private language teacher at home.
