The formalities to study in Russia
Before thinking about going to Russia, you will have to go through some selection stages. For example, the acceptance systems in an institute or university are quite different from ours:
- The classic system, “a la Europea”, which consists of applying for a program by submitting an application with CV, cover letter and form;
- The Russian system, through competitive selection (tuition fees are free) by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Education;
- The system based on a lottery.
Do you have a positive response from a university? !! Congratulations!! You should have received an email confirmation with the next steps to take , which you must follow to the letter.
From that moment, the countdown of the administrative procedures to go to study in Russia begins , and the first thing to check is that you have a valid passport for at least 6 months after the end of your training in Russia. If not, you will have to do it again, for which you must count between 2 weeks and 2 months depending on the cities, but normally they give it to you at the moment.
In addition, you will have to apply for a visa and for this you must provide the following documents :
- Your passport;
- Your invitation letter (issued by the Federal Immigration Service or directly by the university);
- A certificate of insurance, including repatriation insurance of up to € 30,000;
- The visa application form, which must be completed at https://spain.mid.ru/visados;
- 3.5 x 4.5 cm ID photos;
- A medical certificate and an AIDS screening test
Next, you must decide what type of student accommodation you prefer . You can stay:
- In an apartment or studio for rent;
- With a host family;
- In a university residence.
Finally, once you have completed all these procedures, only the most “functional” ones remain , such as:
- Register once there;
- Prepare a budget with rubles and a payment method.
And speaking of accommodation, which is the most interesting to learn Russian easily?
