What is the fee for an Italian class?
€ 12 an hour. That is the average price of an hour of Italian lessons at home, for all subjects (mathematics, languages, physical sciences, history and geography, social sciences).
A tight budget? How much do private lessons cost? Overview of the different course formulas.
If the private teacher can have a net salary that ranges between € 5 and € 22 an hour, a family will spend around € 12 an hour.
However, the rate that applies to a person who wants to start with the Italian language, as with all other foreign languages - English, German, Spanish, Russian, Turkish or Portuguese classes – fluctuates depending on several parameters:
the geographical area (classes are more expensive in large cities)
the level of the teacher (if he is a native Italian, if Italian is his mother tongue, if he is a student of Italian studies or if he has only traveled to Italy)
the level taught (if the student is an ESO, Bachelor or higher education student)
the type of classes requested (one hour a week of Italian, intensive classes to learn the language quickly, course during school holidays, classes for beginners, classes for confirmed levels, etc.)
the requested structure (a private tuition agency, a private teacher, a Public Education teacher, an online Italian classes page, a free course on the internet, etc.)
From one formula to another, the rate can vary up to doubling. From € 8 for a private class for a Bachelor level, the price can go up to € 25 per hour:
if you choose a school support agency,
if you request a native, experienced, Italian mother tongue teacher.
