How to buy cheap fabrics
Perhaps it is the most expensive thing in sewing: fabric.
All haberdashery or websites haberdashery online offer a variety of fabrics of all sizes. And the rolls of fabric by the meter are expensive.
Here are some tips for finding cheap fabric :
- Take measurements in advance or have sewing patterns to buy the correct amount of fabric,
- Find out about the promotional offers of the moment,
- Wait for the winter and summer sales,
- Recover fabrics: from your family and friends, in second-hand stores, etc.,
- Go to markets,
- Recycle your fabric waste: sheets, pillowcases, unused clothing, etc.
It all depends on the sewing work you are going to do. You can make a nice bag out of flowered fabric or sew a skirt or blouse with white buttons.
