How to make an embroidery design?

The eyes are not the only drawings that you can obviously embroider. How can you make a certain shape in embroidery ?

The most important thing is to start by learning a few simple embroidery stitches. For example, it is better to start and focus on cross stitch or stem stitch than to embark on learning back stitch, chain stitch, or knot stitch directly.

Simple stitches like cross stitch allow you to make embroidery patterns quite quickly. In fact, you can choose to trace only the outlines of the shape you want to embroider with stitches or fill the entire space with cross stitch. Of course, you can also use the cross stitch for the outlines.

To begin, if you are not inspired and want to learn the basics, choose a certain diagram, that is, a canvas where the pattern template to be embroidered appears. The diagram can be presented on a sheet or directly on the canvas. Embroidery will therefore be easier for you. Just follow the lines and the color code.

However, you can make up your own patterns by drawing with an erasable marker on the canvas.

To be more efficient, we advise you to put all the accessories you buy at the haberdashery in the same place. Embroidery hoop, moulin or DMC threads, fabrics, needles, having everything you need at hand will make you much more efficient.

If you want to learn to embroider with a professional, you can give sewing classes with a private teacher, in a haberdashery workshop, with the help of YouTube tutorials or even with an embroidery kit. All these solutions will allow you to start more calmly with your first embroidery.
