The photo modes available on mobiles
“You have to love solitude to be a photographer” – Raymond Depardon
Have you found your ideal smartphone ? Are you ready to take awesome photos, from selfies to vacation photos? Perfect, now you will have to know your phone better.
In fact, the camera of today’s mobile phones consist of different photo modes , different points of view, which have a specific use, a mode of operation that should be known. Although each phone has different modes, the truth is that they all have a certain common basis:
- The classic mode, which we all know, since it is the most basic mode, which appears as soon as we open the smartphone camera .
- Selfie mode , since phones now have a front camera, so you don’t have to turn your phone over to take a photo and see yourself on the main screen.
- Night mode, which improves light and contrasts even if it is dark at night.
- HDR ( High Dynamic Range) mode , which improves the overall quality of a photo by taking multiple photos to form one.
- The portrait mode, both in selfie or in classic mode, which, thanks to one or more sensors, allows you to blur the background and take more professional photos.
- The square mode, which adjusts to the publication parameters of social networks, such as Instagram for example!
- The panoramic mode, whose shape adapts to the screen and allows you to take pictures of landscapes worthy of an SLR, or almost.
- Video mode, which is more or less like photo mode, but in sequences with sound.
- Slow and fast motion modes to add a fun touch to the videos you record.
Therefore, we must bear in mind that, to take cool photos, we must also use the tools that our mobile makes available to us, and the photo modes available on mobile phones are the perfect example. From macro photography to beach photos, today almost anything is possible – with that little object called a smartphone !
