To control the light so as not to need filters

It is true that the filters that you find in many applications and programs allow you to obtain incredible photos. But do you know that you can get the same results without having to use them?

To do this, you will have to learn to  control the light ! To become a professional photographer , you must master all the techniques.

Here are some basic notions about light in terms of photography.

  • The  color of the light

Contrary to what one might think, light is not transparent, but has colors. We are talking about   color temperature , measured in Kelvin.

You can adjust this temperature on your camera by changing the white balance.  The more you adjust it to the red / orange colors, the higher the image temperature. On the contrary, the closer you get to blue, the colder your photo will be.

  • Soft light and hard light

This distinction is the basis of light in photography. Hard light is characterized by the presence of  many  easily distinguishable shadows . The most obvious example of a hard light source is that of  sun.

Soft light will be obtained from a source very close to the subject. It will produce very little shadows.

  • The  size of the light source

By adjusting the size of the light source, you can play  contrasts  on the subject. The larger the source, the more evenly the subject will be illuminated. On the contrary, the smaller the font, the lower the illumination of the subject and the more contrast there will be.

Get up early to enjoy the sunrise colors, great for taking beautiful photos.

You can also change the size of the light source by playing with the  distance  from the subject: the closer it is to the subject, the more contrast you will get; the further away it is, the more uniform the light will be.

  • Know how to  control natural light

If you don’t have equipment, you will work more often in natural light. You have to learn to  observe the changes  in positioning and colors during the day to adapt well to it.

  • The  golden hours

Unlike the midday light, which is very harsh and creates a lot of shadows, the early and late day lights are very soft and create  beautiful colors . They are called golden hours  or golden hours. To control the light so as not to need filters
